The California Arts Project (TCAP) is pleased to present The Future is Creative: Arts Educators Leading AI Integration!
Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing the way we create, communicate, and learn. As these technologies become increasingly present in our students’ lives, arts educators are uniquely positioned to lead conversations about creativity, imagination, authorship, and human expression.
This virtual collaborative learning community invites arts educators to explore the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and the arts. Together, participants will investigate AI as a creative partner, experiment with emerging tools, and examine practical applications across artistic disciplines. Through inquiry, reflection, and dialogue, we will engage with important questions about ethics, authenticity, equity, and the role of the teacher in an AI-influenced world.
Participants will also hear from guest speakers, experts working at the intersection of AI, education, and the arts, who will share insights, research, and real-world applications to deepen and extend our collective learning. In addition, participants will work collaboratively in cohorts of teachers within the same arts discipline as well as across arts disciplines, fostering both focused and interdisciplinary exchange of ideas and practices.
Participants will have opportunities to design, implement, and reflect upon AI-integrated arts lessons and creative learning experiences. Along the way, they will share successes, challenges, student work, and emerging practices with colleagues from across the arts education community.
Whether you are new to AI or already experimenting in your classroom, this program is designed to support thoughtful exploration, professional collaboration, and innovative practice. Together, we will consider how AI can enhance artistic learning while preserving the creativity, curiosity, human connection, and expressive power that remain at the heart of arts education.
By the end of the experience, participants will have developed practical strategies, instructional resources, and a network of colleagues committed to leading the future of arts education with creativity, purpose, and imagination.
