CVCAP’s Bodily Autonomy Workshop
Central Valley California Arts Project (CVCAP) is excited to provide a workshop featuring artist Lauren Lee McCarthy. This CVCAP workshop will explore how art can open critical conversations around technology, surveillance, and the body. Drawing from Lauren McCarthy’s exhibition Bodily Autonomy—featuring works on biosurveillance and reproductive technology—McCarthy will share insights into her process and guide participants in thinking through creative, accessible, and socially engaged approaches to integrating these topics into K–16 curriculum. Designed for educators across disciplines, this session will invite discussion and reflection on how contemporary art practices can spark new ways of teaching about identity, consent, data, and care.
